If You Tell is a true crime memoir of murder, family secrets, and the immensely strong bond of sisterhood. This is written by Gregg Olsen. He is the #1 bestselling author in NYT. He is known for writing fiction and nonfiction, which are mainly dominated by crime-related stuff. If Loving You Is Wrong is a highly recommended book that Gregg Olsen has written and so is The Hive.
The audio narration of If You Tell novel is done by Karen Peakes. It was a brilliantly done performance and you literally couldn’t ask for anything more than what Karen Peakes has given with her narration. After more than ten years, when the three sisters Sami, Nikki, and Tori heard the word mom, it all pierced like an eagle’s spurs. It triggered all the old, painful memories which were hidden as a secret right since their childhood. But that was not the case anymore.
The sadistic mother of the daughters subjected subject the three of her daughters to unimaginable abuse, torture, degradation, and psychic terrors behind closed doors for many years. They were living in their farmhouse in Raymond. The three sisters going through all that pain developed a defiant bond. And that was something that helped them to be far less vulnerable than what Shelly imagined to be. The sisters with time gather the courage and the strength to escape the nightmare that culminated in several murders just as a few others were also drawn within the perverse and dark web of Shelly.
This is an intense crime story and it should have come with a prominent trigger warning for the childhood trauma survivors. Apart from the exceptional writing of this book, the reader was also outstanding.
