Hannah was really confused on the day when she went to Oxford for the first time in her life. She thought that there would be trouble there because she didn’t know anybody. In this confused state when Hannah came to Oxford, she met April right on the first day. Later things became quite easy for Hannah because April was the “it girl” in the institute and she was the kind of friend Hannah needed to get settled in this new world.
Together the two girls made a good team of friends and all of them really enjoyed their university life very well. Then the tragedy hit the team when April got killed all of a sudden. It was a nightmare for the friends after that because the girl who was keeping them together for such a long time was not with them anymore. The police caught the criminal within a few days, it was Oxford porter John Neville who had committed the horrible act.
Hannah married Will after completing her education and both started living a happy married life. Now ten years have passed since the day when April got killed and Hannah is ready to become a mother eventually. At this point, April’s killer dies in prison and a new controversy arises after his death. A journalist tells Hannah that John was not the real killer which means that the real killer is still out there.
Hannah feels shocked to hear all of this and when she establishes contact with the old friends she finds out that her friends have been keeping secrets from her since the beginning. The Woman in Cabin 10 showed the complete skill of the author Ruth Ware, to the audience and In a Dark, Dark Wood made his name sparkle brighter. This one finally attests to the greatness of the author. Narrator Imogen Church’s melodious voice is another topping on the greatness of the novel.
