When the name Lauren Groff comes to our mind the first thing we start thinking about is her masterpiece Fates and Furies. She created this book many years ago and it was actually this book that made the author famous within no time. Though the book brought fame for the author it also brought responsibility on her shoulders as well. After that book, the fans started expecting books of the same quality from the author and so far she has been able to keep the same quality in books such as Arcadia.
This is another awesome performance by the author and the impact has been enhanced by the narration of Adjoa Andoh. Book tells us about the courage of an individual who is ready to write her own tale. The author has selected a brilliant name for this novel because the story exactly defines the meaning of the title.
It is Marie who is thrown out of the court and she is sent to England where she has to serve the church as a prioress. She never wanted all of this and leaving the palace was not her wish at all because she was actually happy with the one she used to love. When she reaches the abbey, life completely changes and the harshness of the condition starts affecting her mind.
Slowly she realizes that she has a responsibility to fulfill i.e to protect the sisters who follow her commands now. These duties seemed to be a pressure or burden initially but the young prioress starts taking her duties seriously within no time and she forgets the past very quickly.
