Permanent Record Audiobook
The memoir is a famous one because it is not only linked to the life of Edward Snowden but it also connects us and modern technology with it. At the beginning of the book, Snowden does not pose a hurried behavior rather he shows all of us his life as an ordinary boy who had an interest in the world of the internet.
He wanted to know all about the internet and it was his inward liking towards the thing which made him able to excel. However, he wanted to serve his nation as well in the form of a true patriot so he became a spy for his country and then started serving a much bigger cause. He was hired to construct a system that might enable the US to track down every call, text message, and email in the world.
At first, Snowden kept on working with the organization but somewhere within he felt that it was not the right thing to do because if such a thing happens then nothing would remain private in the world. The personal calls of the people will not remain personal anymore thus it was not an ethical thing to do. So Snowden left the intelligence service and after a long while he created this book so that the people of the world can also become aware of the thing.
The author is of the view that this is not the right thing to do and that no government in the world has the right to track everybody’s calls and emails. Holter Graham has narrated this one while the other versions of this book i.e Permanent Record (Young Readers Edition) and Permanent Record (German edition) are narrated by other legends. It is important to know such things these days so that you can know what the world is going to become in the future.
