Wicked things, monsters, and love songs, all of these ingredients are added in stories by Janet Evanovich. Surprising elements can spring up at any time in these stories because the author of this series has a magic wand instead of a pen. Perhaps Lorelei King might have never thought at the start that he would be narrating such a long series but now the author has become an integral part of the series.
A celebrity chef gets killed in this new installment of the series and the two killers are not tracked down by the police even after a detailed investigation. The sponsor of the barbecue cook-off offers a reward of a million-dollar to the one who catches the two killers. So everyone starts looking for the criminals and Lula thinks of a shortcut by hiring Stephanie Plum for the investigation.
Lula thinks that she can get the money if Plum helps her in catching the criminal. Joe Morelli is also involved in the case because Lula has decided to talk to him and nobody else. Joe also thinks that Lula’s life could be in danger because she is the only witness to the entire scene. Plum agrees to help but she has Grandma Mazur to take care of at first.
There is a lot going on in this episode and the curry might get spicy in the middle. Delicious like Wicked Appetite the book moves on quite nicely and then it has been given the kind of ending that we enjoyed in Going Rogue. Nothing remains the same once the two killers are brought to light by Plum and she thinks that it was one of the toughest cases that she has ever handled in her life.
