An Enchantment of Ravens is a teen & young adult paranormal fantasy novel. It is written by Margaret Rogerson who is a bestselling author in New York Times. Among her best novels, you will find Mysteries of Thorn Manor one of them. Other than this, she also did a good job with the writing of her Sorcery of Thorns novel. The audio narration of Tangled Threads is done by Julia Whelan. The voice of the narrator was only good for the main character. For every other female character, her voice was quite annoying. A skilled painter must always look to stand well up to the ancient power of the faerie courts, even when she fell in love herself with a faerie prince.
Isobel was a prodigy portrait artist who was known to have a very dangerous set of clients. Those included the immortals who cannot bake bread, put a pen to paper properly, or inability to weave cloth. They were also the ones who craved the human Craft with an extremely terrible thirst. The paintings of Isabel on the other side were highly prized. But the time when she received her very first royal patron named Rook, the autumn prince, she made a grave mistake. The mistake was to paint mortal sorrow within his eyes. It was a weakness that could easily cost him his life.
Rook was devasted and furious and spirited her away to the autumn lands. This was done to stand trial for her crime. Waylaid by the ghostly hounds of Wild Hunt, the tainted influence of the Alder King, and as well as the hideous monster rose from the barrow mounds. Rook and Isobel became dependent on each other for survival.
The overall concept behind the story is really good. It will be a whimsical fairy tale that will fascinate you a lot. The narration failed to impress the listeners though.
