This is not the first time we get the picture of Nocturne Falls i.e the place where Halloween never gets dull. People keep on celebrating Halloween throughout the year and that’s just a smoke screen that is kept to hide the truth behind the veil. In this small place all the mythical and magical creatures exist and the locals have adjusted well with them.
For those who are new in the town, this is something hard to digest that’s why they are told that it is Halloween that is being celebrated. Roxy is one of the new guys and that’s why she hasn’t been able to reach the core of the matter yet. Also, she is busy in her matters which are more important to her. She is planning to get a divorce from her husband who is in no mood to let her go free. For this purpose, she gets the help of her neighbor Alex Cruz who is a deputy.
The Siren Saves the Billionaire and The Vampire’s Mail Order Bride also had scary characters and here Alex is a panther shifter. However Alex cannot tell Roxy about the truth because the locals are bound not to tell anything to the foreigners.
Kristen Painter has added plenty of love scenes in the story which makes it not a recommended thing for the kids. The love does not get vulgar but it surely gets intense after every passing day in the novel. Narration by B.J. Harrison has garnished the love scenes so much that one has to go through some of the chapters once again for fascination.
