Wizard tale in appearance is not what many people expect it is from the title. It is not an ordinary story of magic and witchcraft rather it is a story related to the underworld. Here the ArchWizard is trying to hunt down Kael Symes i.e the one everyone thinks to be the DeathWizard. In Talohna the DeathWizards are killed on the day they are born and if they survive then they are chased until they are killed or terminated forever.
Kael used to live in a different world than this but he was summoned to Talohna by a magical source. Although he cannot understand anything related to this world to survive he must gain as much knowledge as possible. The ArchWizard is on his tail and he will kill him for sure if he remains successful in finding Kael first.
While running for his life Kael comes to know that he is the DeathWizard but currently he does not have his powers. The group of witches is also in his search and wishes to get to him before the enemy because they think that he is the chosen one. J.D. Franx has written a real hasty story in which every character seems to be in a hurry. The Curse of Home and Fallen Sepulchre was much like this in story formation. Simon Vance gives everything in narration in the last three chapters to make the battle look epic.
Although the narrator has remained successful in his effort but a little less speed would have been more appreciable. The story was already hasty in appearance so the narration had to be slow.
