A life full of troubles forced Jason Burke to isolate himself from the rest of the world. He thought that what he had suffered was enough for him so there was no more place for suffering anymore. In an isolated spot in the American Rocky Mountains, he constructed for himself a calm spot where he could spend the rest of his life. The plan was good and so was the execution of the plan. For some years everything went according to plan and then one night he heard something falling quite near him.
It was more like the sound of the bomb which Jason could not ignore. He went to the spot and the next time he opened his eyes he was a prisoner in an alien ship and was somewhere in space. The man was abducted by the aliens and on his way, he was able to make new friends and allies. Also, the conspiracies of the governments in space and on other planets made his life miserable.
All Jason wanted was to go back to earth but things became so much complicated than returning was not an option for him anymore. Author Joshua Dalzelle puts the hero in an alien world where he has to survive every passing day and his dream to return to earth and have a peaceful life once again gets shattered. Counterstrike and Iron & Blood were with beguiles of war right from the opening scenes. In this novel, a new fan cannot expect such an outcome in the latter section of the novel.
If Paul Heitsch hadn’t narrated this book then the presentation would not have been so much effective.
