Geralt remains focused on his task all the time and that is the main reason because of which he succeeds in every mission. He has not allowed his mind to divert on things of secondary importance. Not only Geralt is a merciless assassin but he is also an excellent magician. A combo of two things has made him a lethal weapon for those who hire him for different missions.
World of fairies has always needed such a character who could stand against the evil of the land. However, there is a problem that has brought tension to this merciless assassin. One thing that Geralt does not want in life is to spill the blood of the innocent. No matter how much stonehearted he tries to become he cannot negate the fact that his heart still has a soft corner for the good guys in the fairy tales.
This is where the real problem starts i.e not every cute creature in the fairy tales is innocent and not every dark-looking thing is evil in reality. This makes life difficult for men like Geralt who are not working for money and fame rather he is trying to serve the right side.
Andrzej Sapkowski has looked completely different here, the author has not worked on the line of The Tower of Swallows and The Lady of the Lake. Different style has been adopted to bring new life to this fantasy world. There is no rest for the hero and Peter Kenny who is narrating the story. Novel will not take the audience to the age of the world but it will provide a lot of opportunities to think about different aspects.
