K.F. Breene is not a new name in fantasy rather this is one name that has been on the top list for a long time. An extra ingredient that we get in this novel is the voice of Nicole Poole who has narrated this book. Case of a murder hits New Orleans and the department calls in for some help. As a help, the department gets a mage who has proved herself in past by performing superbly in the previous missions. She comes to the scene with her vampire lover Darius and two assistants who are also connected to the world of magic.
She thought that she would be able to solve the case in a flash but she was wrong because the Mage Guild is behind the plague which is being spread in the town. To stop the enemy she has to use her magic which can also make it easy for the underworld to track her down quickly.
Hiding her identity has been one of the prime focuses of the mage and now she is left with no other choice. For the poor soul, it is death in both ways that are present in front of us.
The situation was not very tough in Magical Midlife Meeting and Magical Midlife Madness while this time the main character has become pessimistic about her future life. She needs serious help because things are just too big for her to handle alone. Even if she can save the world with the help of her magic there is no certainty that she would also be able to leave the scene in one piece.
