Many years have passed and Jason has not tried to step into the light. It is the darkness that gives him power and also a chance to hide his miseries from the world. Trying to be alone all the time has remained one of the chief motives of this creature but the world needs him once more. The Archangel is ready to bring hell to the world because her consort has been killed in the palace where he was kept. If the Archangel i.e Neha loses her temper then no one would be safe anymore.
The problem is that the crime has been committed in her palace where an ordinary being never dares to enter. It can only mean one thing either the killer is one of her men or the murderer was powerful enough to cross all the barriers. Jason was about to leave for the task when he is asked to take Princess Mahiya with him because Neha trusts no one.
Together the two rivals start the mission and the track leads them to an ancient evil that has been unleashed over the world once again. Nalini Singh like in Last Guard and Angels’ Blood does not add love to the story all of a sudden. First, the two characters start the mission as strangers and both are reluctant to share their secrets.
Slowly they open themselves to their partners and this brings them close. Justine Eyre has not added any love notes through narration because it was not the demand of the story. The story is serious and beguiles of the upcoming war make it look tougher than usual.
