Magic and love are two things that can mesmerize anybody within no time. Paula Brackston is one of those rare authors who can blend these two things excellently. In the past, the author has done this remarkably well in The Witch’s Daughter and The Silver Witch. Gideon and Elizabeth are shown in peace finally as they start choosing the direction for their life. Gideon wanted to gain freedom and he has been granted that thing so life has become quite pleasant for him.
On the other hand, Elizabeth wanted to devote the rest of her life to the girl whom she considers as her daughter so she goes to her. In Elizabeth’s absence, Tegan has learned many skills and she has transformed herself into a complete witch. Tragically her powers didn’t help her in front of Gideon and now he has her under his control. This bad news disturbs the peace which Elizabeth was hoping for herself. Instead of resting for a while, Elizabeth starts the search as she is aware that Tegan needs her help.
Soon it is like a shift from one war to the other which Marisa Calin narrates. The war between these three beings who have the magic of their own in stock gets epic as the story continues. All three of them have been hiding secrets from the world and the time has approached to let everyone know what they have hidden since the beginning of time.
This is the kind of battle in which everyone cannot win so sooner or later one of them has to face death or eternal punishment. The survivor too might lose a lot during the war.
