For thousands of years, Mr. Hood’s Holiday House has been playing with the mind of the people who dare to enter. The house provides something which is like an allurement for the people of the world. It presents the people with one thing that their heart desires the most. However, nothing is free in this world and the house always demands something in return that the one who has entered never thought about.
The demand is always pinching and it makes a person tremble because he has to lose some in order to gain some. For Harvey Swick, none of it matters because he thinks that he has been blessed with nothing which he could lose so he comes to the Holiday House with a big desire in his heart. Author Clive Barker introduces Harvey as a frustrated young lad in the story.
Harvey thinks that he has no other way except to enter the house which is also full of horrible things which will not allow him to come out of it again. Mr. Hood also gets impressed when he sees the zeal of this young lad because he hasn’t met such a man in the last thousand years. The energy which Harvey had in his heart was just mind blowing and that’s why Mr. Hodd decides to keep him trapped in the house forever. Harvey’s character is narrated by Adam Verner who has helped quite a lot in painting the character to perfection. Imajica and The Vampire Archives had strange characters in them but the main character of this novel is amazing. Harvey is the kind of person that everyone in the audience would like to hear about.
