The Twice-Dead King: Ruin is the first installment in Warhammer 40,000 series. It is a science fiction and fantasy title which is written by Nate Crowley. He is an author of science fiction novels and also a games journalist. Ghazghkull Thraka: Prophet Waaagh! is another prominent novel from the author.
The audio narration of the book is done by Richard Reed. He met the high expectations of his fans from his previous performances. The voice acting was good with an excellent range of voices that he has.
For the dynastic kings belonging to the Necron race, pride was everything for them.
They awakened after whole millennia, but only to see their empires occupied by simple minds and foul beasts. For Oltyx, the Necron Lord, the dynasty of Ithakas was only his by right. However, the machinations of the court on the other side see him getting stripped from his position. Subsequently, he was exiled then to a forgotten world. The revenge could only get him ashes unless Oltyx do something about saving his dynasty.
Oltyx was consumed with a lot of bitterness. He was once the heir to the throne, but then he commanded nothing except a dwindling garrison of warriors. He only had vengeance in mind against all the betrayers and wanted to reclaim his birthright. But, the Orks on the other side were just the harbingers of a fierce and unstoppable force.
The story will trick you at the start and it will make you believe that the protagonist is a self-important fool. But, things are quite different. It is a must-read for all the fans of the Necron race and those who love science fiction in general.
