Where the Drowned Girls Go is a science fiction and fantasy novel. It is the seventh installment in the Wayward Children novel series. The book is written by Seanan McGuire. She is an American filker and a novelist. She won the John W. Campbell Award in 2010 in the Best New Writer category. She game novels as good as Down Among the Sticks and Bones and Every Heart a Doorway.
The audio narration of this book is done by Whitney Johnson. She gave a thumping performance which easily won the hearts of the listeners. There was a school for the children who fall through the doors and then fall back out once again. It was not as friendly as the Home for Wayward Children of the Eleanor West. Moreover, that was not safe as well.
When the time came for Eleanor West to open her new school then she knew from the start that there would be those children whom she couldn’t save. When Cora made up her mind that she needed to have an alternate direction along with a different prophecy and different fate then Miss West agreed to the transfer to the other school, but reluctantly. Things in that other school were known to be run quite differently by the Headmaster, Whitethorn.
In no time, she will be able to discover the fact that all of the doors are not that welcoming at all. Seanan McGuire was superb as usual and those who are following the series from the start would endorse that. The book seemed to be scary at the start but then it ended quite hopeful. And this of course is not a spoiler.
