George Guidall does not take less juicy stories for narration because his voice does not suit the books that have no energy in them. George likes going on with stories that are highly enthusiastic and loaded with a lot of twists. Vince Flynn brings Irene and Mitch Rapp back into action as the battle goes higher in stakes in the United States.
Elections are taking place in America and the candidates are working for votes so that they can get the seat that they desire in the end. Josh Alexander happens to be one of the candidates running for the seat of president. On his return from the campaign one day, his car gets attacked by terrorists who were hiding on the roadside. Though the candidate remains safe during the attack he wins the election in the end because of the sympathy votes. Later the government starts focusing on the terrorist groups present in the world. When the two start analyzing the case, it goes bigger than the Oath of Loyalty because high officials from the government were included in the attack. The story moves on the line of The Last Man for a while after which it gets separated from that category. Mitch Rapp and the head of the CIA, Irene get under serious pressure in this part because they have to work beyond their boundaries. They have never gone against the political leaders of the country but this time they have to eradicate a few black sheep.
