The world is in danger once again and there is only one who can save everyone from destruction i.e Naasir. Naasir is one of the most powerful beings in the world of vampires and angels. He is working under the rule of the Archangel Raphael currently at the beginning of the story. Naasir was looking for a mate when he is called because the former archangel of Persia is under threat. Someone has planned to get rid of him in his sleep and Naasir has to reach him before the enemy.
The location of the archangel is unknown so Andromeda is made Naasir’s partner in the mission. The female scholar is said to have unusual powers of her own which she tries to keep hidden from strangers. Together the two launches themselves on a big mission and the mission serves a great deal in bringing them close to one another.
Naasir desperately tries to attract Andromeda towards him as he wants to keep her with him after the mission as well. Nalini Singh never allows the love birds to enjoy themselves during the novel because the enemy is always stronger than the heroes. Last Guard and Angels’ Blood had the same kind of issues for the heroes which get resolved quite later in the novel.
Justine Eyre could have been much better in the narration if pauses were not there in the novel. The pauses are not huge but can be detected in one or two scenes. The Voice of the narrator was appropriate so no need to worry about the clarity of the dialogues. Evil forces don’t come in huge numbers but the single enemy was ample for the hero.
