Warhammer 40,000 saga gets its launching from this part and there is so much happening in this one novel that the listener will have to remain active. There are wars going on in different parts of the world and different heroes and villains are involved in them. It is not about one planet rather it is about an entire galaxy where heroes from different races want to show their domination.
Guy Haley i.e the author of this series will not give you anything boring to listen to in this series as the author has come up with his best like always. John Banks has narrated such stories before so it was not a new experience for him which was a good thing. The old experience of the narrator does come into play from the beginning of the first page.
. The crusade is on because the darkness has fallen on the world which was quite peaceful in the past. Restoration of that peace is not an easy job to complete. Armies of chaos are quite near and the humans are thinking about survival at first after which they will think of taking back what belongs to them. The Avenging Son is also coming from the Throneworld and things are going to be really messy very soon.
Not to forget the presence of VanLeskus who happens to be the Fleetmistress. It would be easy to understand if you have already shown interest in books like Astorath Angel of Mercy and Pharos. The war is going nowhere, it will take place for sure and the only way out is to fight with full force as only the brave will survive.
