Blink is a self-help book that promises to help listeners with their problem-solving and decision-making skills in their professional careers and lives. The book is written by Malcolm Gladwell. He is a journalist, public speaker, and writer of nonfiction books. He has also worked for The New Yorker as their staff writer since 1996. I Hate the Ivy League and The Tipping Point are two of his best books.
Malcolm Gladwell narrated this Blink book himself. He was awesome with his narration and listeners will enjoy it.
In Blink, the listeners will meet psychologists who have learned everything to predict whether a marriage would last or not. This prediction is based on just a few minutes of observing the subject married couple. The other predictions made are like an example of a tennis coach who knows well when a player will commit a double-fault before the time when the racket would even make any sort of contact of the racket with the ball.
Malcolm Gladwell in this book revealed that the great decision makers are not the ones who go on to process most of the information or spend the majority of their time deliberating. But in reality, those are the ones who have perfected the art of the ‘thin-slicing while filtering out some of the factors that matter the most from a good number of variables.
As usual, the listeners of this Blink book will find Malcolm Gladwell with some excellent insights. This time, he did an awesome job to explore the powers of ‘tin slicing’ which will make a very productive experience for the listeners.
