Running away from the past can only give us some time to hide or relax a bit but it is never the right solution to the problem. Nora Roberts has described such a thing on a number of occasions when the female characters are seen hiding from their past but this does not work for them for a very long time.
Sooner or later they are forced to face the truth and then it is revealed to them that facing fear was the only solution for everything. An example of Identity and Red Lily could be a good thing here because the evolution or the development of the character would be easily understood if one has an idea of those two books.
Anastasia is portrayed as the one living a nice life but this is just a smoke screen that she is keeping. Actually, she does not want to tell anyone about her legacy which she considers to be a curse. This connection with her family has left her isolated in the world and she hasn’t been able to find true love either.
Boone Sawyer gets special attention from the narrator Christina Panfilio as the author has brought a change in the novel through him. This single dad makes Ana fall in love with him and then she decides to open her heart in front of him. The man does not run away rather he shows commitment which depicts his strong character as well. Ana thinks that after all these years he has finally selected the right man for her. Still they two have to face the past one more time before burying it forever.
