Lowell Lockard also known as Black among his friends is a former Navy SEAL who hasn’t found the right woman for himself till the present day. When the story beings, the listeners hear the voice of Stella Bloom, the story of a man who is alone because he thinks that life is good without a woman in his life.
Although his friends have settled well in life after marriage somehow Black hasn’t been able to get settled with a woman. Then Harlow calls from a local women’s shelter and he tells Black that his help is required. Some punks are harassing the women of the shelter so Harlow thinks that Black can teach them something for self-defence.
Black and Harlow used to be in relation long ago and as they join hands once again, the old sparks seem to be flaring once again. Susan Stoker does not add the past love relation at once in the story rather the past starts appearing slowly and it makes the love scenes more interesting. Black thinks that he should be with Harlow all the time as her life is in danger and this gives both of them a chance to rethink their lonely life.
Protecting Jessyka and The Protector have painted excellent characters too who can go to any limit for the sake of their love. Black is also a character who is not afraid of taking any kind of risk when it comes to the only woman that he loves in his life. He does not know why those evil men are after the women’s shelter but he is not going to allow them to take control of the place.
