Dragons of Summer Flame is a science fiction and fantasy novel. The book is written by Tracy Hickman and coauthored by Margaret Weis. They both make great pairing when they right together on science fiction and fantasy genre. This can be confirmed through the Dragons of Winter Night novel where their partnership worked like a charm. Another good one from the authors’ duo is Test of the Twins.
The audio narration of this novel is done by Paul Boehmer. He is an awesome performer who could perform both male and females voices without sounding monotonous. The only little complaint was about the pronunciation of a few words but that is not a big deal, to be honest.
Summer has come and it is something like never seen before by Krynn. The sun was searing the world by beating down on sea and land along with relentless heat and light. There are no clouds anywhere to be seen. The darkness even manages to bring very little relief from the oppressive and weird day.
Meanwhile, the ones who are known to commune on regular basis with their respective gods seem to be uneasy. The deities on daily basis were quite distant and somewhat extremely difficult to reach as well. The prayers of the Clerics would go unanswered and at the same time, the magic would go awry as well. Just as the Ansalon related tension increased, Palin and Steel, the estranged cousins started with their search for some explanation. It became certain some time that a lot more than only magic was at stake. It is a wonderful story. There will be a mix of some old favorite characters and new ones. Overall, it will be a highly satisfying listen for fantasy lovers.
