It cannot get better than this because Lexi Blake is back in action and the author has a point to prove with this classic tale of love and cat and mouse chase. Firstly it is Derek Brighton who has been quite well in his professional life as a detective. He is the best detective in Dallas and has been able to catch many criminals over the years. When he has a target in his mind then there is nothing that can stop him at any place.
He has made quite a reputation for himself but in his personal life, he is still struggling with his feelings. Whenever he gets the time and wants to enjoy life, he goes to the Sanctum where there are a number of women who can bring charm to his life. Although he enjoys leisure time this has not been able to fill the emptiness in his life which is caused by one woman in particular.
Then there is Karina Mills who is also an agent of the first rank and she too visits the Sanctum quite often. It is her playtime when she comes to Sanctum but there is an absence of love in her heart because she still wants to get closer to the man whose presence ignites the passion of love in her heart. It happened in The Dom Who Came in from the Cold when the two lovers got close dramatically and here the same thing is implied.
Ryan West narrates the splendid situation in which the two agents go after the same missing girl and in order to get closer to the criminal they have to act like a couple and this makes their personal dreams come true. Ruthless can also decorate the bookshelf of the mind thus try to get that book too.
