The trilogy started with firecrackers in the first part as the author wanted to keep the story fast-paced from the first page. Lilly and Brand wanted their love story to be complete like the love story of any ordinary couple i.e on marriage. They weren’t given the time to celebrate their love life as the enemies came out of nowhere to invade the planet. Lucifer is the one behind everything that has come on their way since the beginning.
The reality comes before Brand and Lilly in many folds and they try to face all of it one by one. Perhaps S.J. West never wanted to end this series that’s why he kept on writing enthusiastically till the end. Ending possesses tragedies of the type that aroused in Devoted and Cataclysm but the story does not look sad.
As long as the two lovers are seen together we think that there is a lot to enjoy for everyone. Lucifer’s desire for Lilly makes him take many steps which we thought he would never have taken. This also becomes the cause of Lucifer’s downfall as well because he stops planning.
