Climax and conclusion are always important for us if we are interested in thrillers or mysteries. If a story doesn’t end well then there is a chance it will lose its grip on the mind of the audience within a short period of time. We have seen such things happening so many times that a story starts well but it doesn’t appear to be an everlasting one at the end. Catherine Coulter’s stories don’t have such problems as we have witnessed Reckoning and The Cove in the past and their stories are still fresh in the memory.
Usually, we listen to stories in which young women are being slaughtered but here that is not the case at all. An eighty six year old woman named Venus is under attack in this novel. Venus thinks that someone has been trying to kill her so the FBI agents Davich and Sherlock come for the investigation because the woman happens to be a powerful business icon in the town.
While the agents were investigating the case, the woman is again attacked during the day and she gets lucky that she survives. During this time Cam is investigating the case of a serial killer who has murdered six women quite recently. Renee Raudman and MacLeod Andrews have narrated all the characters together and it is a story that goes in smoothly flow even when things get complicated in it.
Don’t think that you would be able to detect the real criminal very easily in this story as several things can deceive the agents in the story and also the listeners. Just keep your eyes and ears open and you are going to love it.
