Magic still happens for many people and especially for those who believe in the power of love. Those who don’t believe in such things cannot feel it taking place right under their nose. Love can make you do many things and the vibes can be felt from far away. The White Dinner is such a time when the loved ones come together and they can embrace the love which is flowing from all directions toward them.
Jean-Philippe Dumas is the oldest participant in this wonderful celebration in Paris. The man has been taking part in this festive occasion for many years and we can say that the spirit of romance is alive because of him. At the beginning of the novel, the audience is told by the author Danielle Steel that the main character in the story has invited three new couples to the White Dinner this year.
The seven characters start the tale during the party and we come to know about each character separately through Alexander Cendese’s narration. The romance and the development of love between these characters are not unique still it is soothing to the heart. The author aroused the same kind of feelings in the characters when he wrote The Whittiers and Neighbors.
There is not a lot of change in the pattern because the story moves on the same romantic line. The author himself does not like any kind of twists in the story so he tries to keep the plot simple all the time. A simple plot allows the audience to enjoy the romantic atmosphere which exists during the White Dinner and after that as well.
