The first book of this series was a hit for sure because it was liked by the fans very much. Now comes the second one which is equally awesome as the first one by William D. Arand. Andrea Parsneau’s voice can be heard in the book once again so no problem with the narration. The story opens up and tells us about Rene who happens to be a boy in trouble. His main mission was to free a monster and in the end, he realized that he had that monster present in his mind.
Later while he was living with this sort of curse, death came a little early for this young lad. After dying early, Rene met the Watcher in the other world and was lucky to have another life given to him. In this new life, the boy was given a family but it was taken from him quite soon.
Then in the city where he was taken after the abduction, he started developing a business of his own and slowly rose to power. From an orphanage to a gang, Rene was leading everything in the city and due to this, the number of enemies increased for this young boy. Every day more and more people started rising to the surface who want a piece of Rene.
The story is like an amalgam of themes present in Monster’s Mercy: Book 3 and Otherlife Dreams which makes it more powerful than those two books. Crazy stuff is present in the book and it can really take the listener on a tour that he would never forget. Action, suspense, family love, and a craze for revenge is there in the book.
