The mind and insight of the keen Sheriff Ringer, the excitement of the chase, and the urgency of the pursuit gave them wonderful amusement. The portrayal is however evident and trustworthy. McCarthy paints policing as the personality of a sheriff, who is however human and male-centric as he may be chivalrous and savvy. McCarthy makes his super reprobate in a more trustworthy manner.
