Olivia was living an ideal kind of life with her parents who were famous stars in Hollywood. As a child, she was blessed with all the luxuries of life including the love of her parents. She was the kind of child who has never dreamed of a tragedy even in a nightmare. Her soothing utopia gets dismantled when a monster attacks her house and snatches her mother from her.
She was able to save herself by hiding in the closet but the problem was that the monster never disappeared from her mind. The monster was actually her father and that single night took both of her parents away from her permanently.
A police detective found Olivia hiding in one of the closets and he took her to his house. There she started a new life in the company of Noah who was the only son of the detective who brought her home. Noah wanted to heal Olivia but she was never able to get rid of the terrible feelings which were haunting her mind all the time. Then Noah started recreating the entire thing in the form of a drama in Hollywood and he wanted Olivia to take part so that she can finally get over it but Noah was wrong in his approach.
The secrets which Olivia was hiding were terrible and it was better to keep them buried. Nora Roberts’ stories are best understood when they are narrated by Sandra Burr. Identity and Red Lily are also narrated well by different narrators but the way Sandra narrated this one shows the real difference. Not only the narrator has a special kind of control over the show, there is also a tremendous clarity in voice.
