Caite is in the Department of Defence but she doesn’t perform any field work rather she is linked to the admin office only. This means that she has all the paperwork in her hands and the rest of the action is left to the professionals. Then one day in an elevator she meets Rocco who is a Navy SEAL. They might not have talked to each other for such a long time but the elevator got stuck and this brought them close.
Rocco invited Caite to dinner and she was quite excited because of it. No man has invited her in such a way before all her life and she thought that it was a nice opening for her in her personal life. However, when she met Rocco at the dinner table, he was not in the same mood and he rudely asked her to leave.
Caite felt heartbroken and later she came to know that Rocco and his friends were actually in danger and he saved her by forcing her to leave. Instead of going away, Caite saved Rocco’s life and this made the man realize that the shy girl has really developed feelings for him. Author Susan Stoker turns the table here when Rocco gets the chance to save Caite as well.
A killer wants to eradicate Caite because of some unknown reason and Rocco is going to make sure that the killer does not succeed. Rocco starts acting like the hero in The Protector because he must reach the enemy before it reaches his beloved. Savannah Peachwood has utilized the experience of Searching for Caryn in the narration and the urgency is dealt with superbly by the narrator throughout the show.
