The poor girl in the story is trapped between the devil and the deep blue sea because she cannot make a choice on her own. It is her fate that brings her into a situation from which there is no way out apparently or perhaps she does not want to get out of that mess. Her small house was the only thing that her father left for her and she had nothing else to rely on. Though the house was near the forest she had no place else to go.
Then on one occasion, the house gets destroyed because of the storm and the girl was about to die when she is saved by Jared i.e a school fellow. Jarred was not in a human form at that time rather he was something else that the girl wasn’t able to comprehend. He brought the girl to his home where Clayton was also present and he too was in the shape of a wolf. Both werewolf shifters and Clayton were not in favor of keeping the girl in their house.
For the girl, there was no other way except to live with those hot shape shifters for the rest of the school term. Jarred wanted to keep her safe while Clayton thought that they should eat her up when they have the chance. The writer of the novel Elena Lawson puts the main character in big trouble at first and later when the girl gets the chance to run she does not want to move away.
