Spellmaker is the second chapter in the Spellbreaker novel series. The book is written by Charlie N. Holmberg. She is a fantasy writer who is highly regarded for her The Paper Magician series. The Paper Magician is a highly fascinating novel from Charlie and it will impress you with its strong storyline and excellent characterization. You will also find her The Glass Magician novel to be the same. The audio narration of Spellmaker novel is done by Elizabeth Knowelden and Noel Arthur. The performance went quite smoothly and it made the audience enjoy this novel to the fullest.
The story is set in England in 1895. There was a long series of unsolved murders of magicians along with the opus thefts. This all was not as such a puzzle for Elsie to solve. But, revealing some master spellcaster as a culprit means to incriminate herself as some sort of an unregistered spellbreaker. When Elsie showed no interest in joining the force with the gorgeous assassin then her top secret was exposed. She was thrown into jail and soon the murderer vanished.
Bacchus, the elite magician through some definite twist of luck aided Elsie in joining the lawful caveat. They should look to marry for the sake of proving their own cover story. Elsie was found forcing a magical tutor and tried hard to spoil all the plans of the most deceitful criminal ever in England. All this happened while her bond was growing with Bacchus.
Spellmaker is a superb novel with an intriguing story. All of the characters in this book were quite well developed and the plot was top class as well.
