In the 20th century, the Earth was known for sending transmissions, probes, and welcoming messages to the far-off stars in the universe. Someone, unfortunately, noticed that. That was the time when the Galactics. It was 2052 and they came with their battle fleet. The planet Earth merged with their gigantic Empire, rather than getting annihilated under a barrage of hell-burners. The swearing allegiance to the alien overlords was not the only thing needed for the sake of survival.
The need was also to have something for trade. There should be something that the neighboring planets would be happy to pay with their hard-earned credits. The majority of the local worlds were too civilized for having a regular army. The only significant service that the planet Earth could provide was in the form of soldiers. Someone was needed to do all of the dirty work required.
A lot of people loved this audiobook version for some outstanding performance by Mark Boyett. He was truly sensational. However, the story is also great with some excellent story-driven characters. The credit goes to B. V. Larson as well for the success.
