The Dragons of New Orleans is the first book of the Treasure of Paragon series. This is a paranormal romance fantasy novel. It is written by Genevieve Jack. She is a multi-award-winning and bestselling author in USA Today. You will find her mostly writing paranormal romance and fantasy books where one of which is The Ghost and the Graveyard. Another worth mentioning title of the author is The Dragons of Paragon.
The audio narration of The Dragon of New Orleans is done by Rock Engle. This was not a good performance as the narrator had a grating voice. This was a book more suitable for dual narration. New Orleans was a city of supernatural secrets and a city of intrigue. It was also a place that had one enigmatic dragon there as well.
For almost three centuries, Gabriel had managed to survive well in New Orleans, especially after having a coup in Paragon, his native realm that scattered him along with his other dragon siblings who were spread across the world. Then his immortal existence was threatened by a voodoo curse. The only hope left with him was to find an antidote, the one which could rest in some mortal woman.
After five years of having a complete unsuccessful treatment for her brain cancer, death was believed to be a welcome end for Raven Tanglewood. Her illness became a prison that her extremely adventurous type of spirit couldn’t abide. Salvation then found its way in the form of Gabriel who was the one employing the dragon magic for saving her. The dragon romance in The Dragon of New Orleans is just so lovely. You will enjoy this story but the narration not so much.
