There was a time when it was thought that Catherine Coulter was a writer who could write love stories only. Perhaps it was right to some extent as well and in order to prove the perception of the people wrong, the author started coming up with the books like Enigma: An FBI Thriller, Book 21. This one is also from the same series and this is not an average thriller rather the story is of the first rank.
For the narrator Robert Lawrence, this was one of the best series he has narrated during his career. Although the effort of the narrator is stupendous this happened only because the author tailored everything to perfection for the listeners. Like Reckoning the story starts with an incident that does not make sense initially.
Mac who happens to be an FBI agent got injured in a terrorist attack and was admitted to the hospital for recovery. While lying on the hospital bed, he heard the news that his sister’s car has fallen into the river. The strange thing was that he was able to feel that he was in the car with his sister. When he reached the hospital, his sister was out of the coma but she vanished from that place after some time.
As Mac started looking for his sister, he was amazed to notice that almost everyone who knew his sister Jilly was telling a different tale about her. Lacey and Dillon from the FBI join the case and they also bring Mac with them because they think that his details might be able to help them in the process. The case gets more serious when an old lady gets killed and the murder gets linked to Mac’s sister.
