The First Lady
The First Lady is a political suspense thriller. It is written by James Patterson and Brendan DuBois. James is a big name when it comes to writing intriguing mystery thrillers. You will have a great time with his Triple Cross novel. Another stunning novel of the author to look for is The 23rd Midnight.
Karissa Vacker did the narration of The First Lady novel. It was a distracting performance with so many common words mispronounced. The story started with the character of Sally Grissom who was a top service secret agent and was also in charge of the team dedicated to Presidential Protection. She knew very well that something there was amiss when she was summoned to a private meeting that included the president along with his chief of staff with no witnesses. But one thing she just couldn’t predict was that she would be pushed hard to the point to take on a case about the mysterious and shocking disappearance of the first lady. She had strict orders to keep this case low-profile and the information is given a top secret.
The absence of the first lady came in the wake of the public revelation of the affair of the president. At first, it looked as if she was cutting off all the contacts just as she convalesces in Virginia on a horse farm. What started first as a highly innocent respite at no time was revealed as a highly twisted case. All of this happened when a ransom note was received at the White House along with the finger of the first lady.
The story of The First Lady is really strong and smartly written by the authors. The narration however didn’t do well for the listeners.
