The audio narration of this novel is done by Soneela Nankani. It was a great attempt by the narrator to bring this story and its superb characters to life. You will have no complaints, but all praises for Soneela Nankani. The life of Nahri changed for good when she summoned Dara accidentally during one of her schemes. Dara was a mysterious djinn. She got whisked from Cairo, where she had her home, and was thrust into the Davabad court. She discovered in no time that she would require all of her special instincts to survive there.
Daevabad was entrenched in the horrifying aftermath of a battle. In that situation, Nahri was supposed to find a new way forward for herself. But even when she embraced her heritage and holding on to her powers, she knew that she was stuck within a golden cage. She was all the time watched by a king ruling from the throne which once was within the belonging of her family. Moreover, she was fully aware that a single misstep would completely doom and ruin her tribe…
The fantasy world set up by the author in this book is awesome. You will adore every inch of it and all those who are part of it.
