The Kingdom of Gods is chapter three of The Inheritance Trilogy novel series. This romance and fantasy novel is written by N. K. Jemisin. She is known for writing romance, fantasy, and science fiction novels. You will find a wide range of themes in her novels including oppression and cultural conflict. The Fifth Season is one of her novels which is good enough to check the potential of N. K. Jemisin as an author. Another novel from the author is The Stone Sky which is also equally as good as the first recommended novel.
The narration of The Kingdom of Gods’ novel is done by Casaundra Freeman. The narrator is the same since the start of the series. But strangely, Casaundra decided to change the pronunciation of the character names in this novel and that was quite frustrating.
The Arameri family for the last 2,000 years has reigned over the world. They were known to enslave all the gods who were behind the creation of the mortal-kind. The gods are free now and the ruthless grip of Arameri is quickly slipping. Still, they are considered to be everything or everyone who stands between the unending global war and peace.
The last scion of the family was Shahar who must look to choose her loyalties. She longs to believe Sieh who the godling she loves. The duty as in the capacity of the heir is to advocate all of the interests of the family. This should be the case even if it means either using or destroying all those she cares for. This novel comes as a very good addition to the trilogy after such a good couple of chapters. The only issue is with the narration which was going fine for the first two chapters by Casaundra but somehow, she failed to deliver this time.
