Harry Bosch is not an ordinary soul rather he is a living legend that has solved many cases and has brought criminals to justice. on this occasion, Harry is not hundred percent psychologically because he is having a bad time in his life. This bad patch in life has actually taken everything away from him.
His house has been damaged because of an earthquake and his girlfriend has left him because of reasons that he cannot tell. The only thing interesting that was left for him in his life was his job as an L.A.P.D detective but this thing is also snatched from him when he shouts back to an officer. Thus Harry comes back to the road where he started his life as a little child.
People in the department think that he is doing nothing but that is incorrect because he starts working on the case of the murder of a prostitute which took place long ago. The one who got killed was actually Harry’s mother and he has been trying to find the killer for decades now. As he reopens the case, he suddenly feels that there are powerful people that want to stop the investigation and Harry wants to know the reason.
Michael Connelly has written Nine Dragons and Desert Star so one can expect a lot of emotions in the story. Here on the contrary there is more action than emotions because Harry is in an angry mood. With Dick Hill’s voice in narration, the depiction of anger was not very difficult. Dick Hill has a strong-pitched voice that is accurate for such situations when a person is sad and angry.
