The Legend of Drizzt: The Collected Stories
R.A. Salvatore has not created a better character than Drizzt in his career. There are certain characters that we can appreciate but there is no one like the dark elf. This book has a lot of narrators because it has twelve adventures of the dark elf compiled inside it. Neverwinter and The Crystal Shard were not all in one type of thing so if a listener is interested in listening to one at a time then he can get those books. But those stories are long and detailed adventures while this one has short stories with strong themes.
In each of the stories, Drizzt is thrown into a new and tough competition. Each battle makes him stronger as he sacrifices something special on most occasions. Drizzt has a panther companion in one of the stories which are liked by the fans and the addition of the dragon sisters was new. The author has always remained one step ahead of the imaginations which the fans develop after every episode. The dark elf, left his home long ago because he wanted a place of his own where he could settle and make his own rules.
Here these old issues are not the main topic of discussion rather, Drizzt gets engaged in secondary missions in which he helps other beings in their quests. During these small quests, the story gets knit with some issues of the past.
The author has done all this to make these small stories more interesting. Also, this gives such clues to the audience that they develop a notion to listen to the detailed version too later on.
