The trilogy was written by Patrick Ness before this and the people who listened to the trilogy wanted to hear more about the main character. Most of the listeners thought that the author had not described enough about the character of Viola in the series. According to the author he always had these things in mind about his main character and finally, he wanted the audience to have this lovely piece of art.
This is more like a secret that is revealed to the audience about Viola and the New World on which she lands. Everything in this book happens prior to the trilogy. At this point, we are told how the people got to this New World and they took it as an opportunity to start a new life. Viola was also one of them but she wanted something different or perhaps something more than an ordinary new life. Angela Dawe was given the opportunity to narrate the story once again and this is a highly anticipated book so the narrator has enhanced the energy in her voice
Even new beginners who have not listened to the trilogy ever can get this book and listen to it with minimal ease. A Monster Calls and The Ask and the Answer needed some description and background but this one is not like this at all. The book is written in a much easier style that anyone can understand.
