The One is a teen & young adult fantasy novel. It is the third chapter in The Selection novel series which is authored by Kiera Cass. She has mainly known for her The Selection series where The Selection is arguably the best novel that Kiera Cass has written. Moreover, she also did a wonderful job with the writing of her The Crown novel.
The audio narration of The One novel is done by Amy Rubinate. This was a distracting performance. The narrator was ultra-dramatic with her voicing which was not well received by the listeners. The third book had some immature material as well as compared to the previous two books in the series, and that made the narration close to unbearable. The time in The Selection has finally come for one winner to be announced and that will be done in The One.
When she was chosen among all to compete in The Selection, America never thought that she would ever discover herself anywhere close to that crown, or even close to the heart of Prince Maxon. But just when the end of that competition came closer, all of the threats right outside the walls grew a lot more vicious. America in no time realized how much she had to lose and how hard she would have to fight for the kind of future that she always wanted.
The graph of The Selection series is more of a decline where the first chapter was the best and this third instalment is the worst. You will have a tough time with this book which is mainly due to the poor narration, and partially due to the immature content that this book has.
