America was considered to be quite a barren landscape that was dominated by smoldering ashes. It was also devoid of life for all those who were struggling hard to scratch out some kind of existence. In that kind of destruction, there was a father and his young son who were together walking toward the coast. But, they had no understanding that the circumstances in a way would improve once they manage to arrive there. They are still preserved and the relationship between them comes ahead to represent some sort of goodness in a world that was full of utter devastation.
The story of The Road is very depressing while the average kind of narration made it sound further dull. If it was a slightly better narration then this would have been a good experience, despite a few depressing moments. Another opinion about this book is that despite the bleak nature of this story, there is still some humor and hope in there.
The overall experience with this audio novel will be above average in audio. You wouldn’t be disappointed as such if you attempt it. The book its story won the Pulitzer Prize in the fiction category in the year 2007.
