Then She Was Gone is a women’s fiction novel with suspense. It is written by Lisa Jewell. She is a London-born author. Ralph’s Party was her first novel which in 1999 became her bestselling debut novel. I Found You is another excellent title that Lisa Jewell has written.
The audio narration done by Hele Duff for the subject novel is pretty great. She ensured distinct voices for the characters which truly brought up their actual personalities.
Ellie Mack was 15 years old and was believed to be the perfect daughter. She was adored by her parents and all of her friends, and even teachers. She made a golden teenage couple with her boyfriend. She was only a few days away from having a relaxing summer break while having her entire life ahead of her. But then, she just disappeared without any trace.
Laurel Mack was the mother of Ellie and she was trying hard to get on with her life once again. A decade passed since the disappearance of Ellie and nearly seven years since Laurel’s marriage ended. Moreover, it was only a few months since the last clue regarding the disappearance of Ellie surfaced. Then one day, Laurel met a handsome man in a café. She was quite surprised that how quickly they both got close to each other. His name was Floyd and then she met with his daughter Poppy. She was stunned to meet her as she could see Ellie while looking at her. But her desperation to find Ellie continued along with some unanswered questions about the lives of Floyd and Poppy.
The story of Then She Was Gone is good but at the same time, it was predictable as well. The outstanding narration will keep the audience interested in this novel throughout.
