Where’d You Go, Bernadette Audiobook
Bernadette never had an excellent life not because of her lack of success but rather because of her relations with the people around her. She has achieved success in every field that she has entered but she has failed to keep a good relationship with the people she meets in her daily life. Her husband does not like her behavior in most situations because she is not predictable at all.
The mothers in the neighborhood think that she is not a good mother because she never shows up when her daughter needs her. Her daughter Bee is not thinking about her in the same way rather the fifteen year old girl thinks of her mother as her best friend. Bee takes a promise from her mother that if she performs well in the exams on this occasion then they will go on a family trip to Antarctica.
Bernadette made the promise but when the time came, she just vanished into thin air. Bee does not get disappointed with the behavior of her mother rather she thinks that there is something seriously wrong and her mother needs her help. So Bee starts going through the emails and messages of her mother so that she can find out where her mother has disappeared and why.
Kathleen Wilhoite was narrating the mother and daughter at the same time so it was a challenge for the narrator to keep the difference alive. Maria Semple has kept that difference to a great extent during her writing. It is wrong to say that the author has shown her true skills in Today Will Be Different and This One Is Mine because this is the novel where the author has shown her capability. The relationship of the mother and daughter doesn’t break here rather it gets strengthened.
